Week of 3/11: Off the Road. Finally.

This is a simple case. All lines lead to a center point, and the center point is inactivity.

First there is travel. Fortunately, it is coming to its end with my return this week on Tuesday. I could be in the gym Wednesday, but, second, there is the coaching transition and the inaccessibility of the gym until that transition has taken place. And then, third, there is the general malaise brought on by fatigue; this is what constant travel does to me. I need to recover, and that requires sleep.

But all lines finally broke from the black hole on Friday, as I have recovered from travel, I am not traveling, and the gym is open again with Coach Cathy in charge.

Dynamic warm up

Work Sets: Squat 3 x 185 x 5

Work Sets: Bench 3 x 155 x 5

This was just to get things moving again. I had some glute medius pain/tightness from too much sitting, but that didn’t hamper things.

I got the bar lower on my back, using the trap shelf, and had a wider stance in the squat. I want to see if I can make those last as adjustments with heavier weight. It would seem to make the movement more glute and hamstring dominant, and those are strengths for me.

Glad to be back! Felt mentally much more in the game all day afterward. Funny how that works, isn’t it?
