Rack Pulls

Rack Pulls

Starting:  Rack pull 3 x 345, 3 x 365, 3 x 385

Working: Bench press 4 x 205, 3 x 215, 3 x 225 (gym PR)

Accessory: Incline press 8 x 125, 8 x 135, Rope push down 8 x 125 x 3

Switched up the starting work today; Jeff says we’ll work some on rack pulls heading into the state meet, just to get the feeling of heavier weight. We certainly got there today—a triple at 385 this early in the cycle feels like a competition PR could be coming.

That’s also true in the bench. Today’s triple at 225, even though it was touch-and-go rather than on command, was a gym PR for me. The first two were pretty fast, and the third got locked out without much grinding. That movement is definitely getting more explosive; the inclines seemed to have helped.

This has been a tough week at work. Lots of stress around. Evening commitments. House party coming Saturday. All in all, to get this workout in at this level feels really good.
