A continuation of the theme from Monday: worked on being as explosive as possible and got the leg drive kicked in early on the bench. The result was a pretty satisfactory session, with three sets of triples at 195. I’ll take that at the current weight. Looking back at my log from February, I’m doing what I did, fifteen pounds heavier, peaked before the State meet. Since I’m currently about 10 weeks out from the state meet, I should be able to peak with PRs, even at a lighter weight.
I know I’ve had a good three days when I really want to add a workout on Thursday. I also know better than to give in to that temptation—Friday is heavy squats. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof.
